YSL - Paris Exhibition



The first retrospective since Yves Saint Laurent's death in 2008 showcasing the designers first collection for Dior, in 1958, and a recreation of the studio where Saint Laurent worked. "Yves Saint Laurent" is at Petit Palais, Paris, until August 29th.

Maison Martin Margiela '20’ The Exhibition



Somerset House is due to host Maison Martin Margiela ‘20’ The Exhibition running from 3rd June - 5th September, a major exhibition celebrating 20 years of one of contemporary fashion’s most influential and enigmatic designers. This ambitious, multi-layered exhibition captures Margiela’s unique aesthetic and vision, incorporating garments, installations, photography and film. The Concise Dictionary of Dress 28th April - 27th June, Blythe House


The Concise Dictionary of Dress is a project conceived by a curator
of costume, Judith Clark and a writer and psychoanalyst, Adam
Phillips. The project is formed around eleven written definitions of
words, and eleven related visual displays clothing and clothingrelated
objects that have been placed within the various spaces of
Blythe House.
Blythe House is the storage facility of the Victoria and Albert
Museum. A five-storey Victorian building, it houses the V&A’s
collections of ceramics, textiles, furniture, and fashion when they are
not on display in the Museum.
The Concise Dictionary of Dress is experienced at Blythe House as a
walk through the building in groups of a maximum of seven people,
each group guided by a member of Artangel’s staff.
The tours will cover five floors, including a roof space, and will last

Elephants are stampeding through London this spring as part of a charity fundraising event to support Asian elephants which are threatened with extinction. This innovative charity appeal is also touted to be the largest public art exhibition in the capital. The 250 fibreglass elephants are standing or sitting at various locations in central London until July when they will be auctioned off at Sotheby’s. Designers taking part in the event include Alice Temperley, Diane Von Furstenburg, John Rocha and Julien MacDonald and hundreds more. For more information click here

V&A Fashion in Motion Live Catwalk Events: Osman Yousefzada


Osman Yousefzada, rising star of the international fashion scene, is the focus of the V&A’s forthcoming Fashion in Motion. For one unique day in May, the designer will present a selection of pieces from his collections to date in a series of catwalk shows at the V&A’s Raphael Gallery.

Born in the UK to Afghan parents, Osman Yousefzada was inspired from an early age by his mother’s Birmingham dress making business, which influenced him to study Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in London. The V&A has been a long-standing source of inspiration for the designer who was nominated for Designer of the Year in 2007.
